Black History Month October 2007
I didn’t think we would make it but we did.
Determination, Resilience and Unity are the three key factors that bring together the venues and producers, collectively called the AoA Programming Partners, and you, our audiences.
Since BAA hosted the first AoA in 2001 it hasn’t got any easier to source a core income for the festival month. We would never have made it this year had it not been for AGMA and we give thanks
We give thanks to you for your faith and support of the month for without an audience the arts and all its voices would fall on deaf ears.
We may well struggle to be here next year but today is the history of tomorrow. Let us remember all those whose determination got us thus far those through a morale unity brought about the 1807 Abolition of Slavery; a struggle not over yet.
We also got to realize we are one people, yeah!
Got to realize that we are one people, yeah!
We got to realize we are one people,
Or there will never be no love at all -
There will never, never, never be no love at all.

“I am delighted to have this opportunity of offering my support and best wishes to celebrate the launch of Acts of Achievement for Black History Month 2007.
Manchester’s cultural diversity is a source of strength and enrichment. Over the years Acts of Achievement has made, and continues to make, an important contribution to the celebration of that rich diversity.
I send my warmest congratulations and best wishes.”
